Pocket-sized tweezer-meters recognized for delivering benchtop LCR accuracy in the field testing

WATERLOO, ON, Nov. 5, 2026 — Siborg Systems Inc. today announced that its LCR-Reader line of digital multimeters has received the Platinum Award in the 2026 Military + Aerospace Electronics (MAE) Innovators Awards program. Platinum represents the program's highest level of recognition, honouring outstanding innovation and technological achievement in the military and aerospace electronics industries. The recognition highlights the LCR-Reader family's combination of 0.1% basic accuracy, automatic measurements and a lightweight tweezer form factor that lets engineers test components wherever the work is.

Award winning LCR-Reader MPA/MPB series offer high basic accuracy of 0.1% and a vast variety of functions: AC/DC voltage and frequency meter, LED/Diode test, Signal generator and Oscilloscope. LCR-Reader-MPB allows 250 kHz test frequency and CAN protocol interface compatibility.
High frequency LCR-Reader R2 and Multilingual R3 models. Both models offer Analog Signature Analysis feature.

The Military & Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards have been presented annually since 2016, recognizing technological innovations that address significant design challenges in the military, aerospace, avionics, and defence electronics industries.

The winners of the 2026 awards were announced on October 20, 2026, on the Military & Aerospace Electronics website.

"We are honoured to receive Platinum recognition from MAE," said Michael Obrecht, Director of Siborg Systems Inc. "Our goal with LCR-Reader has always been to put benchtop-grade measurement into an engineer's pocket. This award confirms that technicians and engineers in manufacturing, aerospace and repair see real value in fast, accurate testing with no setup."

A growing family of tweezer-meters
The LCR-Reader line began in 2014 with the LCR-Reader R1, a simplified, budget-friendly version of Siborg's Smart Tweezers. A major redesign in 2020 introduced the LCR-Reader-MPA, which went on to win Plant Engineering magazine's Product of the Year award. The family now includes:

  • LCR-Reader-MPA — the flagship all-in-one multimeter with 0.1% basic accuracy, automatic LCR/ESR measurements and an oscilloscope mode for waveform analysis up to 100 kHz.
  • LCR-Reader-R2 — a 250 kHz high-frequency model with Analog Signature Analysis.
  • LCR-Reader-R3 — a budget model with a multilingual interface.
  • LCR-Reader-MPB — the newest model, combining features of the MPA and R2 with 250 kHz test frequency, optional Bluetooth data acquisition and CAN protocol support, so measurements can feed industrial controllers and automated QA systems.

Weighing about 36 g, the LCR-Reader-MPB brings benchtop-grade performance to maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) work in aerospace and defence. Earlier this year, performance testing at Navair Technology in Toronto confirmed it can accurately measure a 0.1 pF standard capacitor.

Built for real-world testing
LCR-Reader devices are used for PCB troubleshooting, component sorting, incoming inspection and field service. Their tweezer design lets users grip surface-mount components directly, and automatic mode selection means readings appear in seconds without configuring the meter. In 2025 and 2026, Siborg demonstrated the line at trade shows across Asia and North America, including Electronic Asia, Taitronics, IPC APEX and MRO Americas.

Availability
LCR-Reader products are available from the online LCR-Reader Store, through Siborg's Amazon channels in North America and Europe, and from distributors including DigiKey.
